APAC Wind Energy Summit 2025

Australia’s wind energy sector is rapidly evolving. Wind power now generates over 13% of our nation’s electricity, making it a vital renewable resource alongside solar. Victoria remains a key region, boasting significant onshore wind capacity and ambitious plans for offshore development.
At the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC)‘s APAC Wind Energy Summit in Melbourne, Powering Australia’s Victorian Node Leader, Parry, engaged with industry leaders, policymakers, and experts to discuss both opportunities and challenges facing the wind sector.
Key discussions focused on the need to streamline regulatory processes, coordinate grid upgrades, and ensure consistent approvals across state and federal governments for both onshore and offshore projects.
To fully realise Australia’s wind potential, stronger supply chain integration across the Asia-Pacific region is essential. Continued innovation will extend the life and efficiency of existing wind farms and position Australia as a global leader in wind energy technology.
