Powering Australia’s NSW Node recently attended the Carbon Market Institute (CMI)’s 12th Australasian Emissions Reduction Summit, where the Hon Chris Bowen MP, Minister for Climate Change and Energy, outlined government support through six sector decarbonisation plans and expanded investment schemes, highlighting record battery deployment and early Safeguard Mechanism success as signals of progress positioning Australia as an attractive destination for clean tech investment.

Discussions highlighted key opportunities exist across methane abatement, carbon removal technologies, and industrial decarbonisation; areas where Australia’s clean tech manufacturing can drive global impact.

The summit reinforced that successful industrial transformation depends on connecting policy ambition with commercial reality if Australia is to add value both domestically and in export markets.
