Powering Australia speaks at Hydrogen Field Day

Powering Australia’s Victorian Node joined industry, government and technology leaders in Bell Bay, Tasmania for Countrywide Hydrogen Holdings Pty Ltd’s Hydrogen Field Day, a showcase exploring opportunities for hydrogen in Australia.

Federal Member for Bass Jess Teesdale and Tasmanian Minister for Energy and Renewables Nick Duigan outlined federal and state approaches to hydrogen development. Attendees also saw demonstrations of hydrogen technologies including Gastech Engine & Energy hydrogen trucks, the OneH2, Inc. mobile refueller, Toyota Motor Corporation’s hydrogen genset and the Mirai fuel cell car, reflecting current progress in the sector.

With its proposed hydrogen hub, Bell Bay is positioning itself as a potential centre for production and utilisation. Victorian Node Leader Parry Serafim spoke about Powering Australia’s work across clean tech manufacturing and the role that hydrogen can play in decarbonising the transport sector.

Our thanks to Countrywide Hydrogen, especially Geoffrey Drucker and Inge Drucker, for hosting an insightful session focused on outcomes to move the sector forward.
