Kangan Institute’s ACE launches hydrogen truck

The Kangan Institute’s Automotive Centre of Excellence (ACE) has launched its hydrogen truck, making it one of the first TAFEs in Australia to offer hands-on training in hydrogen fuel cell transport technology.
Powering Australia’s Victorian Node gathered alongside TAFE teachers from around the country to learn more about ACE’s hydrogen program and hear from The Hon. Gayle Tierney, Victorian Minister for Skills & TAFE as she celebrated this milestone.
With funding from the Victorian Government and support from Foton Mobility Distribution, ACE is equipping students with the skills to work on the vehicles of tomorrow, ensuring they are job ready to keep our transport sector moving towards net zero.
As transport remains one of Australia’s highest emitting sectors, this program provides an important step towards addressing the skills gap and preparing the workforce for a low emissions fleet. Developing capability in hydrogen and electric vehicle technology will help ensure the transition to a cleaner, more sustainable transport system is backed by a skilled and prepared workforce.
