Peter Schreiner joins Powering Australia as Education and Training Director

This week we are delighted to welcome Peter Schreiner to the Powering Australia team as Education and Training Director, based out of Newcastle, NSW.

Peter joins us from TAFE NSW, where he held the role of Industry Innovation Specialist focusing on manufacturing, engineering, and aero skills. He brings decades of experience across trades, teaching, and management roles, and recently completed a sustainability fellowship exploring the role of skills and training in the energy transition.

Peter takes over the role from Rod Thiele, who recently retired following an extensive career in science education. Peter will lead workforce development initiatives essential to advancing Australia’s clean-tech manufacturing and energy transition goals. His work will focus on expanding local capability in the battery and clean energy sectors through targeted education and training programs.

He has hit the ground running in preparing to host his first event at the end of this month in Melbourne, our Battery Powered Skills & Workforce Forum 2025.

Welcome to the team!
