POWERING AUSTRALIA Privacy Policy
1. Purpose
This policy outlines Powering Australia's ongoing obligations in respect of how it manages Personal Information. Powering Australia has adopted the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). The APPs govern the way in which it collects, uses, discloses, stores, secures and disposes of Personal Information.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all employees, contractors, consultants, and third parties operating on behalf of Powering Australia who handle, access or process personal information. It also applies to all individuals whose personal information is collected or held by Powering Australia.

4. Policy Statement
Powering Australia is committed to growing Australia's clean-tech manufacturing industries and achieving better business outcomes for First Nations in the clean energy transition. This requires the management of Personal Information. The organisation is committed to protecting the privacy of individuals and managing personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles.
5. Policy Principles
5.1 Collection of Personal Information
Personal Information is obtained in many ways including directly from individuals, from publicly available sources and from third parties. It is collected for the primary purpose of providing services, providing information to clients, and marketing. It may also be used for secondary purposes closely related to the primary purpose where individuals would reasonably expect such use. When collecting Personal Information, Powering Australia will, where appropriate and possible, explain why it is collecting the information and how it plans to use it. Individuals may unsubscribe from mailing/marketing lists at any time by contacting the organisation in writing.
5.2 Sensitive Information
Where sensitive information is acquired, it will be used only for the primary purpose for which it was obtained, for a secondary purpose directly related to the primary purpose, with the individual's consent, or where required or authorised by law.
5.3 Third Parties
Where information is provided by third parties, Powering Australia will take reasonable steps to ensure the individual is made aware of the information provided.
5.4 Disclosure of Personal Information
Personal Information may be disclosed where the individual consents to the use or disclosure, and where required or authorised by law.
5.5 Security of Personal Information
Personal Information is stored in a manner that reasonably protects it from misuse, loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. When Personal Information is no longer needed, reasonable steps will be taken to destroy or permanently de-identify it. Most Personal Information is or will be stored in client files kept for a minimum of 7 years.
5.6 Access and Quality
Individuals may access the Personal Information held about them and update or correct it, subject to certain exceptions, by contacting Powering Australia in writing. No fee is charged for access requests, but an administrative fee may apply for providing copies. Identification may be required before releasing information. Powering Australia will take reasonable steps to ensure Personal Information is accurate, complete and up to date.

7. Compliance
Non-compliance with this policy may result in disciplinary action. Compliance is monitored through periodic reviews and audit processes. Individuals may also lodge complaints with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
8. Review
This policy may change from time to time and is available on the Powering Australia website. It will be reviewed every two years or sooner if required due to legislative changes, organisational changes, or audit findings.
